In May students from the University of Kansas School of Medicine Pediatrics department shared an evening with 30 high school students in IRC Wichita’s Refugee and Immigrant Student Empowerment Program, (RISE). The evening was an opportunity for the pediatric medical residents to meet some of the RISE members and for RISE members to connect with their community.
Provide support in school subject areas (Math, English, Science, History, etc.) with newly arrived refugee youth. Please note we ask for 5-10 hours per month if committing to this opportunity.
While most students were relaxing this summer, the IRC in Atlanta’s Youth Food Justice (YFJ) interns were hard at work at Clarkston High School (CHS), completing a brand new garden for their classmates, teachers and community to enjoy!
