How to become an IRC volunteer
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the International Rescue Committee in Garden City. Please email [email protected] with any questions regarding volunteer opportunities or the volunteer process.
Volunteer process
Review our current available volunteer positions.
Contact our office at (620) 805-5350 or [email protected] to inquire about attending an orientation session to learn more about our work and our current volunteer opportunities.
After you have attended a volunteer orientation session, we will send you a volunteer application to complete. You will be asked to return a completed application prior to the next step, which is a volunteer interview.
If selected for an interview, you will be contacted by the Volunteer Coordinator to set up a time.
Following a successful interview, the next step is to submit a background check.
Once your background check has been cleared, you are ready to get started! Depending on your role, you will either receive further training from your in-office department or wait to be matched with a family to tutor and/or mentor.
