AmeriCorps Economic Mobility Financial Coach - Volunteer Position with Stipend

Start date: June 16, 2022

This is an AmeriCorps position sponsored by the Local Initiatives Support Corporation, with the term lasting 1 year. Compensation and benefits are paid and provided by LISC, and include:

· Full time member will serve 1700 hours & term of 12 months

· $20,000 stipend payable in 24 equal installments over a 12-month period directly by LISC

· Eligibility for a 100% premium paid Bronze level health care benefit and/or a child care benefit if the member is the primary care giver of a child aged 13 and under

· $6,345 education award to return to school or pay off existing student loan debt upon successful program completion

· CDFI 101 and Credit as an Asset Certificate, as well as training in Financial Coaching during the program

Immigration Intern or Volunteer in Oakland

Start date: Ongoing

Volunteers work with Immigration Program Caseworkers to directly assist clients with the processing and filing of applications for citizenship, lawful permanent residence, family reunification, and other immigration petitions necessary to receive legal residency in the United States and reunite family members. This position reports to the Immigration Coordinator and requires a minimum 8 hr/week commitment. Preference will be given to those who can commit a minimum of 15 hrs/week or more.

  3. After we’ll send you a volunteer application to complete, please attach a resume in the application.

  4. As volunteer opportunities become available, you may be contacted to schedule a phone or in-person interview.

  5. Complete and clear a background check.

  6. If selected, you will be contacted with information about next steps.

Additional things to note

*You must be 18 years or older to volunteer and complete a background check.

Due to the high volume of people reaching out, we are currently prioritizing volunteers who have weekday availability between Monday-Friday from 9:00-5:00 p.m. We do have a significant waitlist for volunteer opportunities at the moment.
