CONNECTION TO MISSION: Bus Orientation Trainers will expedite a client’s path to self-sufficiency and integration goals by increasing transportation access to our client base. LOCATION: Various locations throughout the service field.
TIME COMMITMENT: 6hrs/week
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Utilize the GRTC map and website to understand bus routes and teach clients how to use these resources
Take clients on practice bus trips, providing instructions and tips for using the bus line
RESPONSIBILITIES AND EXPECTATIONS:
Attend a virtual bus orientation (1hr)
Attend an in-person bus training (3hrs)
Must be able to walk up to one mile while training
Helpful to have availability on Friday mornings
Flexible – able to quickly adapt to a changing situation
Comfortable presenting in front of a small group of people
Report your Volunteer hours by the end of each month
REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS:
Willingness to learn! Although experience/familiarity with the bus line is helpful, no experience is required.
Interest in working with youth newcomers to the U.S. from a variety of cultures and backgrounds
Must be flexible. Last-minute changes are expected when working with clients.
