Career development, a program within the Economic Empowerment Department, focuses on assisting clients through career counseling to advance beyond entry-level jobs and to resume their professional careers after resettlement. The Career Development Intern will manage a caseload of IRC refugee, asylees and Cuban/Haitian entrant clients who are interested in pursuing higher education or vocational school, provide individual consultations and follow-up on all referrals. The intern will also coordinate a college/career readiness workshop and visit.
REQUIRED: A minimum commitment of 6 months and 15 hours per week. Preferred languages (not required): Arabic, Swahili, Haitian-Creole, Spanish, Dari, Farsi, or Pashto.
