Location: IRC office in Silver Spring, MD
Time Commitment: This volunteer position requires availability for at least 16 hours per week between Monday-Friday 9AM-5PM.
Responsibilities: The Central American Minors Volunteer will work within the Resettlement Department at the IRC Silver Spring, MD Office. The volunteer will serve as the subject expert on CAM-AOR related matters. S/he will work with office staff, community members and relevant partners to identify potential CAM-AOR applicants, explain program requirements, gather data and documentation; prepare and submit CAM-AOR forms and follow up with the IRC National Headquarters as necessary.
Skills & Qualifications: Volunteers must be culturally sensitive and respectful of diverse backgrounds; be willing to work with English language learners; self-motivated and comfortable working with little supervision; able to collaborate with others and work well as part of a team; able to handle sensitive client information confidently; able to communicate effectively in English; bilingual in Spanish and English.
Volunteer must be bilingual in English and Spanish.
