The IRC in Charlottesville provides Cultural Orientation to newly-arrived refugees on Fridays at the IRC office. Child Watch volunteers help entertain children in a child-friendly corner of our classroom, while their parents attend class. Children and volunteers will always be in the presence of the parent(s) and the English instructor.
Location: IRC Office, 609 E Market Street, Suite 104, Charlottesville, VA 22902
Time Commitment: Fridays 9am-12:30pm or 12:30-4pm
Responsibilities: Entertain kids of all ages (parents will be present, but otherwise occupied).
Skills/Qualifications: Volunteers must be good with kids, 18 years of age or over, and comfortable working in a multicultural environment.
