*IRC’s office in Silver Spring continues to work remotely during the coronavirus pandemic.
Time Commitment: Minimum commitment of six months and at least 15 hours per week. 20 hours per week preferred.
Responsibilities
Support Interpreter Program Manager in preparation for interpreter training including scheduling interviews and language tests, collecting documents, tracking participant information. Schedule interpretation appointment using online scheduling system. Create and update documents for the IRC Community Interpreter Program. Conduct research on interpretation opportunities for the IRC Interpreter program, focusing on organizations that serve the refugee community, organizations that are non-compliant with language access standards and opportunities for interpreter quality improvement through IRC interpreters.
Skills and Qualifications
Excellent English language, computer and internet research skills.
Familiarity with online scheduling systems and experience in administrative work.
