Under the supervision of the Volunteer and Donations Coordinator, community outreach volunteers will promote the work of the IRC by assisting with communications, attending community events, and organizing donation campaigns that support refugee clients.
Location:
Locations may vary, as volunteers will serve remotely from home
Time Committment:
Minimum 3 hrs/week for at least four months. Longer volunteer commitments encouraged.
Responsibilities:
• Develop unique strategies for engaging donors and volunteers
• Solicit area businesses, service clubs and faith-based organizations for in-kind donations
• Assist with recruiting volunteers
• Post updates on social media websites and write articles for website
• Represent the IRC at various community events
• Assist with organizing workshops and gatherings
Skills/Qualifications:
• High level of organizational skills
• Energetic and positive attitude
• Experience with cross-cultural communication
• Ability to handle confidential documents and sensitive information
• Social media and/or marketing experience is ideal
