Responsibilities:
- Meet the Casework Team at the apartment/ home or office storage
- Set up and assembles beds and any other furniture or housing supplies needed
- Meets Casework team at the Market or apartment/ home to provide groceries and hot ready-to-eat food.
- Contacts landlords and apartment management companies to identify housing for refugees and asylees
- Researches, connects, and assists refugees and asylees with affordable housing applications.
- Accompany case workers on airport pick-ups for new arrivals
Requirements:
- Able to lift heavy furniture and food boxes along with climbing flights of stairs
- Have a license and access to personal vehicle to meet staff at locations
- When consistent arrivals are occurring, be able to work 2-3 days a week for 3-5 hours at a time.
- Team player in building resolutions and working collectively with case management staff.
- Cultural Awareness in working with clients
- Adhere to IRC policies such as client confidentiality, child protection, and Accountability for Affected Populations.

Family Reunification Volunteer
The R&P Family Reunification Volunteer assists the Family Reunification Specialist in the coordination of Affidavit of Relationship (AOR) applications within the Reception and Placement (R&P) program. The volunteer will primarily assist in outreach to refugee clients, ethnic community-based organizations, and religious communities to provide information on the newly expanded AOR program. Aquaponics Volunteer
The volunteer will assist the New Roots Development Coordinator in managing IRC’s CamelBackyard Community Food Hub, particularly the aquaponics greenhouse. Other duties may include assistance with weekly CSA produce box program, hosting virtual classes, posting on social media accounts and helping with outreach efforts.
