Location: Client's home and various places in and around Richmond.
Time Commitment: Self-determined, but we request that once matched with an individual or family that you commit to spending at least one hour a week for a minimum of six months to help them integrate into their new community
Responsibilities: Mentors are cultural ambassadors, helping clients sort and understand their mail, navigate shopping trips, make necessary phone calls oto social services, children's schools, etc.
Skills/Qualifications: Most importantly, volunteers should be welcoming and eager to help newly-arrived refugees settle into their new Richmond community. Volunteers should also be culturally sensitive and respectful of diverse backgrounds, self-motivated and comfortable working with little supervision, and able to handle sensitive client information confidentially.
