Medical Logistics Volunteer

The IRC in Atlanta—in partnership with community members like you—is committed to ensuring refugees and humanitarian parolees from Afghanistan and other crisis zones around the world integrate and thrive in their new communities here in Georgia. Please help us welcome our Afghan allies and newest neighbors by helping to transport and accompany newly arrived clients to specialty medical appointments as they rebuild their lives. Responsibilities: 

Must have availability during the week between 8 am and 6pm to come to pick up the client and transport them to and from their medical appointment.  

Must be flexible and comfortable with short notice (at least 24 hours before) scheduling.

Requirements: 

Email VolunteerATL [at] rescue.org to complete the Volunteer Interest Form and share your availabilities 

Provide personal transportation to the areas in Duluth, Alpharetta and Atlanta accompanied by an IRC staff member 

Interpretation services available if needed

Virtual Connect to Success Conversation Partner

Start date: Ongoing

The IRC in Atlanta’s Connect to Success (C2S) program is one of the only programs in the U.S. dedicated exclusively to supporting out-of-school refugee youth ages 16 to 24. C2S addresses the unique barriers to success faced by this population through holistic support, including one-on-one coaching and group workshops. All of our programs are currently operating virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
