The Reception and Placement Volunteer will work with the Reception and Placement Caseworkers to resettle newly arrived refugee families in Los Angeles.
Responsibilities
- Assist caseworkers with virtual home visits for refugee families
- Conduct follow-up phone calls to refugee families to assess their needs
- Research community resources and in-kind donations, and guide refugees on how to access them
- Assist with interpretation
- Potentially be available to do contactless donation deliveries to families or help set-up apartments (if you have access to transportation)
Requirements
- Must be available a minimum of 5 hours a week Mon-Fri; including Fridays at 1:00pm
- Must be available at least two weekdays between the hours of 9am - 5pm
- Must be available for a minimum duration of three months
- Fluency in another language such as Arabic, Armenian, Farsi, Dari/Pashto, or Spanish required

Center for Economic Opportunity (CEO) Intern
The Center for Economic Opportunity helps low to moderate income (LMI) immigrants to the US build their knowledge on how to budget, save and access credit, while learning the intricacies of the US Financial system and developing long term financial skills for financial success.
