Location: IRC office in Baltimore
Time Commitment: this volunteer position requires a time commitment of at least 3 hours per week during business hours (Monday to Friday, 8:45am to 5pm). We are looking for volunteers who can commit to the same time period each week for a minimum of 12 weeks. The weekly time commitment can range from the minimum 3 hours per week up to full-time hours.
Responsibilities: the resettlement shop volunteer helps create a welcoming environment for our clients and guests. The volunteer must communicate with clients and donors in a friendly and professional manner. The volunteer must comply with all agency policies and protocol.
Skills & Qualifications: volunteers must be culturally sensitive and respectful of diverse backgrounds; be willing to work with English language learners; self-motivated and comfortable working with little supervision; able to collaborate with others and work well as part of a team; able to handle sensitive client information confidently; organized with excellent time management skills; and be able to communicate effectively in English. Fluency in additional languages is helpful, but not required.
