Shop of Hope Volunteer

The IRC in Atlanta—in partnership with community members like you—is committed to ensuring refugees and humanitarian parolees from Afghanistan and other crisis zones around the world integrate and thrive in their new communities here in Georgia. Please help us welcome our Afghan allies and newest neighbors by assisting with shopping at the Shop of Hope and obtaining critically needed goods as they rebuild their lives. Responsibilities: 

IRC supporter in hoodie with yellow American flag that reads refugees welcome.

Support families in shopping at the Shop of Hope to obtain critically needed items like clothing and household items. 

Transport clients to and from the Shop of Hope located behind the IRC office (2305 Parklake Drive NE, Suite 100, Atlanta, GA 30345) 

Requirements: 

Be available on Tuesdays and Fridays between 10:00 am and 6:00 pm 

Provide all transportation necessary for shopping 

Assure that clients sign completed shopping receipt

Virtual Connect to Success Conversation Partner

Start date: Ongoing

The IRC in Atlanta’s Connect to Success (C2S) program is one of the only programs in the U.S. dedicated exclusively to supporting out-of-school refugee youth ages 16 to 24. C2S addresses the unique barriers to success faced by this population through holistic support, including one-on-one coaching and group workshops. All of our programs are currently operating virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
