Volunteers work closely with staff to provide services and facilitate classes that reinforce client self-sufficiency, job readiness and community integration. Various classes and activities occur throughout the work week, including: Vocational English, Civics, Public transportation, Bicycle safety, Sign language, Financial education and Job Search.
- Assist in teaching the Cultural Orientation and/or Job Readiness Training curriculum.
- Document client progress
- Conduct meaningful mock interviews and assist with job applications.
- Assist staff in administrative tasks
Requirements: Comfortable in an English-learner classroom setting. Patience, creativity, teamwork, flexibility, and laughter. Proficiency in related skills.
Minimum Commitment: 2-4 hours/ week for 4 months; most classes occur during business hours (M-F; 8:30am-5pm)
Job Readiness Training Class: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 1 pm - 3 pm
