Our donors are the foundation of the International Rescue Committee’s humanitarian work.
Each day, our supporters help the IRC provide emergency shelter, medical care, and other critical services to refugees and others uprooted by conflict and disaster.
As you make your final charitable-giving decisions for 2011, I would like to share a few reasons why donors choose the IRC in their own words and encourage you to make a donation to support our urgent work. Your gift will be matched dollar for dollar up to $1.7 million through December 31.
“When disasters strike, IRC is often one of the first to spring into action because they are so often already there with years of on the ground experience. They use a very high percentage of my donations for programs and services, and I like that.”
– Robert H.
“I am very selective about the organizations I support, and IRC is among a few that I trust the most. They are very professional and have a good track record of getting money where it's most needed.”
– Sherrie T.
“[The IRC’s] expertise across a wide range of humanitarian needs is impressive, and their persistence is legendary. From educational programs in the most dire refugee camps to reproductive health services for women fleeing violence, the IRC shows up where aid is most needed.”
– Dirk S.
We take pride in our donors’ trust and we are also proud of the recognition we have earned for our good stewardship of donated funds:
- Again this year, Charity Navigator gives the IRC four stars — its highest rating.
- The American Institute of Philanthropy rates the IRC A+, a rare distinction.
- Forbes Investment Guide names the IRC one of only 10 "Gold Star" charities.
- The BBB Wise Giving Alliance notes the IRC meets all 20 of its charity accountability standards.
Simply put, your donation to the IRC today can make a tremendous difference in the life of someone in need. Please donate and your gift will be matched-dollar-for-dollar by special friends of the IRC until December 31, up to a total of $1.7. million.
Thank you for your support.
