Dear friends,

I am thrilled to introduce myself as the new Director of the International Rescue Committee in Sacramento! It is an honor to work alongside our dedicated team helping people who were forced to flee their homes survive, recover, and regain control of their lives.

My passion for this work stems from my mother’s unwavering commitment to service and the deep respect she instilled in me for human dignity. Guided by her example, I devoted my career to building bridges within the humanitarian and social service sectors.

For the last nine years, I led organizations committed to these same values. In my most recent role as Deputy Director of Catholic Charities Yolo-Solano, I oversaw programs supporting the health, food access, and legal needs of vulnerable families. Along the way, I was privileged to connect with people from many diverse backgrounds.

This equipped me to lead diverse teams, foster inclusive communities, and ensure responsible financial management of the donations entrusted to us. I look forward to drawing on this expertise to build upon the incredibly impactful work already underway at the IRC in Sacramento.

I am consistently in awe of the resilience embodied by our refugee and immigrant neighbors. I look forward to working together to help them flourish as New Americans in Sacramento and across the region.

With warm regards,

Carolina Estrada
Director, the IRC in Sacramento
