The IRC, which has been working in northern Uganda since 1998, recently has been assisting local farmers on a project to revive crop production, marketing and sales. Farmers are excited about their future. Not only are they able to feed their families, but they are growing their incomes by participating in IRC-established cooperative groups. more »

Cavine Akello sells traditional pancakes at a market stall in Kitgum, Uganda. An IRC program for young mothers helped her to save enough to open her business. Since the rebel Lord's Resistance Army was driven from the region, thousands of people have returned from displacement camps to rebuild their communities. more »
