Syria: Winter in a war zone [Video]

The cold is coming. By next month, temperatures in Syria and the surrounding region will dip below freezing.

This winter, for hundreds of thousands of Syrian families who have taken shelter in lightweight tents or war-scarred buildings, there will be no escape from the cold. In this new video from the field, see what the International Rescue Committee is doing to get ready.

How you can help Syrian families

With the generous support of our donors, the IRC is expanding our response to the Syria humanitarian crisis on every front.  Right now, IRC teams are on the ground in Syria and in neighboring Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq and Turkey, delivering essential health care, clean water and sanitation, schooling, protection for women and children, food and other assistance to vulnerable Syrian families.
