JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Position:   Retention Marketing Manager, IRC Korea

Reports to:  Executive Director, IRC Korea

Location:         Seoul, Republic of Korea

Hours:              Full time, 40h per week

 

 

 

 

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

IRC Korea’s mission is to inspire the Korea public to financially support the IRC in order to help people impacted by conflict and disaster. The main purpose of this role is to support the Executive Director or IRC Korea in generating long-term sustainable growth, maximizing income and developing a supporter-centric fundraising model.

As the Retention Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for leading and developing the Retention strategy and program and supporter care. You will be responsible for maximizing revenue and donor development activities – as well as future-proofing the program in line with our supporter’s needs and expectations.  

You will be joining a team focused on excellence and growth, with significant opportunity to lead on change and drive impact.   

 

The position has 2 line management responsibility.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

 

  1. Strategic and program development (50%) 
  • In consultation with Executive Director of IRC Korea lead on the development, implementation and monitoring of the Retention strategy and operational plan
  • Maintain and develop a monitoring and reporting framework for retention activity and associated KPIs that show the performance of the acquisition strategy
  • Oversee revenue activities across cash, regular giving and the mid-level portfolio ensuring all activity is designed to inspire and engage supporters
  • Lead emergency appeals for Retention and ensure processes and activities are optimized for immediate launch
  • Oversee supporter development activities to increase loyalty, product holdings and, ultimately, lifetime value
  • Be accountable for activity being produced on time, in budget and within departmental strategic objectives
  • Ensure best-in-class supporter care that is focused on the long-term relationship with donors
  • Work closely with equivalent teams in other national markets (i.e. UK, Germany, Sweden, US) and central support teams to ensure all engagement is coordinated, and where appropriate, synchronized.
  1. Budgeting and planning (20%)
  • Manage the annual retention planning and budgeting process, advising the Executive Director of IRC Korea on new investment opportunities, and ensuring all activity and project work is aligned with strategic objectives and balanced against team resources
  • Review the effectiveness of activity on an ongoing basis and propose investment / disinvestment where appropriate
  • Balance in-year income with life-time value as appropriate to ensure all activity is driven by maximizing longer term income
  • Manage the income and expenditure tracking, reconciliation and monthly variance reporting
  • Focus on maximizing return on investment at all times, and take contingency action as necessary to achieve budgeted income target
  1. Leadership and management (10%)
  • Lead and develop the Retention Marketing Part
  • Be an active part of IRC Korea’s team, modelling leadership behaviors and supporting the Executive Director of IRC Korea in developing a team culture of high performance, continuous improvement and constructive feedback
  • Be the retention expert in cross-market working groups and committees
  • Manage 3rd party supplier relationships and contracts, ensuring all work carried out is to a high standard and represents good value for money
  • Work closely with the Senior Acquisition Marketing Manager to develop a seamless progression for new donors and prospects into further cultivation
  • Forge excellent relationships across all areas of the IRC to identify opportunities for collaboration where appropriate
  • Network and build external profile of the IRC Korea
  • Work closely with the creative studio to develop content is appropriate for the UK strategy and audience
  • Work collaboratively with digital engagement and communications colleagues to maximise fundraising and engagement opportunities
  1. Insight, analysis and data management (10%)
  • Ensure all work undertaken by the retention team is insight driven
  • Work closely with the data teams and external agencies and services to gain a detailed understanding of IRC supporters, both behaviorally and attitudinally, and use this insight to inform targeting and marketing activity
  • Balance in-year income with life-time value as appropriate to ensure all retention activity is driven by maximizing longer term income
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of current data protection legislation and ensure all retention activity is compliant
  1. General (10%)
  • Keep up to date with the sector developments and benchmarking in individual giving and digital fundraising to ensure IRC is at the forefront of fundraising developments.
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of current legislation, best practice and industry standards and adhere to all relevant regulation. Ensure all fundraising and marketing is ethical, effective and supporter centric
  • This post may involve some national and international travel, overnight stays and very occasional working outside core office hours
  • Undertake any other additional tasks as requested by the Executive Director of IRC Korea

 

PERSON SPECIFICATION

 

  1. EssentialSkills, Knowledge and Qualifications:
  • Driven and proactive with a solutions-based attitude and the ability to motivate a team
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage, influence and negotiate with stakeholders at all levels
  • Ability to manage sophisticated budgets and performance forecasting models
  • Comprehensive understanding and experience of audience segmentation, analytical modelling such as LTV and use of insights to drive strategy and performance
  • Commercial mindset, with the ability to set and evaluate short and long-term strategic objectives and pivot based on results
  • Numerate with excellent data analysis and interpretation skills
  • Excellent organizational skills, especially the ability to manage a complex, varied and substantial team workload
  • Excellent verbal and written English and the ability to produce well designed and high-quality proposals and reports

 

  1. Experience:
  • More than 5+yrs experience in Supporter(customer) Development and Marketing in corporate or NGO sector including at least 3+yrs experience in Retention Marketing/ Experience marketing.
  • Detailed understanding of cash and recurring revenue business models and budgets
  • Experience and understanding of creative process and relationship with brand identity through different channels and audiences
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced, high performing team
  • Experience working for a centralized, international organization would be a strong advantage
  • Experience using a CRM system 
  • Language Skills: Korean speaker, Fluent in English.

JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Position:   DigitalFundraising Officer

Reports to:             Digital Fundraising Manager, IRC Korea

Location:Seoul, Republic of Korea

  Hours:                         Full time, 40h per week

 

 

 

 

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The main purpose of this role is to support managing the performance of each digital channels, including search AD (SA) / display AD (DA), aiming direct/indirect contribution for optimizing the IRC Korea’s digital income and diverse supporter-centric fundraising model.

.  

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

 

  1. Fundraising Advertisement Management
  • Review, revise the creation of digital SA/DA AD asset and various application for each ad channel, additional asset creation during the fundraising campaign promotional period for more optimizing the current appealing asset
  • Multiply/Segment the AD target/asset group for reaching more segmented, relevant   approach to audience
  • Review and monitor the agency operation of SA/DA AD channel and AD group, review and discuss with the digital fundraising manager regarding the report of the agency.
  • Explore additional AD channels with digital marketing agency, fundraising manager for reaching new audience and propose the pilot AD campaign
  • Initiate, create and operate   2 digital fundraising campaigns’ promotional web-page and AD assets, based on IRC korea’s yearly plan
  • Work collaboratively with Communications, Brand and Creative colleagues to maximise fundraising opportunities including AD asset creation and result sharing
  • Work closely with equivalent teams in other markets (i.e. Germany, Sweden, UK, US) and the International Operations team to ensure all activity is coordinated and maximised

 

  1. Budgeting and planning implementation.
  • Initial monitoring and reporting on digital fundraising income and expenditure budget lines on a daily, campaign basis to fundraising manager
  • Initial review of the effectiveness of fundraising activity on an ongoing basis and propose investment / disinvestment channel, AD segment where appropriate Insight, analysis and data management
  • Review the agency setting of UTM parameter of each AD asset and AD group, following the IRC HQ’s UTM parameter standard
  • Review the IRC Korea’s Google Analytics account daily and routine basis for each AD channel, AD set performance, inclusive of IRC Korea’s CRM account incoming donational information
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of local data protection legislation and ensure all digital activity is compliant

 

  1. Other accountabilities
  • Monitor up to date with the NGO sector developments in digital fundraising to ensure IRC is at the forefront of fundraising.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current best practices and digital marketing industry trend and adhere to all relevant activities
  • Ensure all fundraising and marketing is ethical, effective and supporter centric
  • This post may involve some travel, overnight stays and very occasional working outside core office hours, e.g. during emergency appeal launches
  • Undertake any other additional tasks as requested by the Executive Director, Senior Manager, IRC Korea

 

PERSON SPECIFICATION

 

  • More than 2 years of experience in running and optimizing advertisement via digital channels (SEM, Paid Social, programmatic/re-targeting,etc) either on a non-profit organization, a company or an agency
  • Experience working in Google Analytics, CRM systems and each AD channels
  • Goal-oriented and numerate with excellent data analysis and interpretation skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to make a success of new initiatives
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to establish good working relationships with colleagues locally and globally
  • Good organisational and time management skills and the ability to work to deadlines, prioritise and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility as regards working hours, including sometimes working to tight deadlines
  • Is behind IRC's work and values

Desirable

  • Knowledge and understanding of legal frameworks and requirements, and implications of decisions in the best interest of the charity.
  • Experience of working with a creative/digital marketing/digital advertisement agency and/or charitable organisation in a similar role
  • Experience of liaising with external suppliers to agree price, timeframes and deadlines

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Educated to degree level.
