Young people have the power to shape the societies they live in — but meaningful participation starts with having the right tools, knowledge, and confidence to make their voices heard. Developed within the ParticipACTION project, this Advocacy Training Curriculum was created by IRC to support young people from diverse backgrounds in becoming active advocates for inclusion, rights, and democratic participation across Europe.

Through practical exercises, real-life examples, interactive activities, and accessible explanations of EU institutions and policymaking, the curriculum guides participants step by step through the world of advocacy: from identifying issues that matter to them, to designing advocacy strategies, engaging decision-makers, and promoting concrete social change in their communities.

Structured around two complementary modules, Building an Advocacy Strategy and EU Decision-Making and Youth Advocacy, the curriculum combines practical skills with civic education, encouraging young people to turn ideas into action and transform personal experiences into collective impact.

Rooted in the values of inclusion, solidarity, and participation, this resource aims to empower a new generation of informed, confident, and engaged young advocates ready to shape a more inclusive Europe.
