The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is deeply committed to ensuring that everyone who interacts with the IRC is safe.
Safeguarding globally
IRC understands safeguarding as its responsibility to ensure IRC Persons and Associates do not engage in conduct that may harm IRC Clients, Persons, or Associates.
- IRC does not tolerate safeguarding harm and will take appropriate disciplinary action.
- You can read more about our global approach in the IRC Safeguarding Policy.
- All IRC Persons and Associates are required to report any concerns or suspected breaches.
- To report unethical behaviour or misconduct, visit the Report Wrongdoing website.
Safeguarding in the UK
IRC supports refugees and displaced people rebuilding their lives in the UK. Our safeguarding responsibilities extend to providing appropriate and sensitive support to clients, even if the harm is not directly linked to IRC staff or services. This is aligned with UK statutory safeguarding guidance.
- You can read more in our IRC UK Safeguarding Standard Operating Procedure.
- If you are concerned about the safety or wellbeing of an IRC client in the UK, please contact the UK Safeguarding Advisor by emailing Safe.UK@rescue-uk.org or calling +44 (0)20 3983 2727.
