Many are trying to reunite with relatives in western and northern Europe. And hundreds are children sent alone by parents who desperately desire a safer, better life for them.
Italy receives more refugees and asylum seekers each year than any other country in Europe. The International Rescue Committee is responding to the needs of the most vulnerable.
Greece currently hosts approximately 50,000 refugees, most of whom will remain in the country. The International Rescue Committee ensures these refugees understand their rights and provides them with job training, and psychosocial support so that they can rebuild their lives.
