Our People and Supporters
Cash relief is one of the most efficient and effective forms of aid for thousands of uprooted people struggling to survive in times of crisis. The IRC aims to meet the needs of today's refugees and support people to take back control of their lives.
The International Rescue Committee provides emergency cash relief and lifesaving information services to people in El Salvador who have been uprooted by growing violence.
The IRC provides support to Syrian refugees struggling to get by in Lebanon and the resource-strapped Lebanese communities hosting them. We also responded to explosion in Beirut, providing support including emergency cash and psychological first aid.
Economic wellbeing means people have their most basic survival needs met and have sustainable income and assets so they can prosper. During and after crises, people may be forced to make short-term decisions to survive—such as pulling children out of school to work—that will have long-term negative consequences. The International Rescue Committee helps them meet immediate needs and build a brighter future.
