About Mursal Juya

Mursal’s experience spans supporting refugees and women’s empowerment in Afghanistan, the UK, and South and Southeast Asia. She studied Politics, Philosophy, and Economics at the Asian University for Women in Bangladesh while conducting a three-year Ford Foundation research project on female education, employment, and gender relations. She then worked at the Afghan Ministry of Counter Narcotics and the Norwegian Refugee Council in Kabul, leading national initiatives and coordinating programmes for internally displaced persons. After moving to the UK, Mursal earned a Master’s in International Social Policy from the University of Nottingham. At the IRC, Mursal has designed and delivered cultural orientation and job readiness trainings, including gender-specific trainings for refugee women, and oversaw the delivery of integration support for the Refugee Employability Programme. She now serves as Lead Trainer for the Community Sponsorship Programme.
