The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is delighted to be partnering with the London Welsh Male Voice Choir for a concert in support of families displaced by the conflict in Ukraine.

The concert will be held at 7:30pm on Thursday 10 November 2022 at St Paul's Church, Knightsbridge. Tickets are available at £20, £30, and £40. Funds raised at the concert will support the International Rescue Committee’s efforts both in Ukraine and neighbouring countries to provide food, shelter, warm clothing, and trauma care to those in need.

Since conflict erupted in Ukraine in February, over 7.6 million people have fled from Ukraine into neighbouring countries, the fastest displacement crisis since World War II. The conflict is far from over and the upcoming winter will make life harder, especially for women and children who make up the majority of refugees.

The International Rescue Committee is working with local partners across Ukraine and neighbouring countries to deliver much-needed emergency assistance. IRC provides financial support and essentials such as groceries, blankets, warm clothes, electrical appliances and stoves where gas and electricity has been destroyed. IRC also continues to support evacuation efforts for women and children, and provide critical information for displaced people about housing, employment and refugee rights as well as psychosocial care.

Laura Kyrke-Smith, International Rescue Committee UK Executive Director, said,

From the Homes for Ukraine scheme to the outpouring of support from local communities, the people of the UK have demonstrated their compassion and generosity supporting Ukrainian refugees forced to flee their homes. The IRC is grateful to the London Welsh Male Voice Choir for dedicating this evening of music-making to the people of Ukraine.”

Laurie Adams, Chorister in the London Welsh Male Voice Choir, and organiser of the event said,

“We’re thrilled to be supporting the International Rescue Committee’s Ukraine appeal, raising much-needed funds for people both in Ukraine and those displaced to neighbouring countries.

Music often has a profound way of bringing communities together and through this concert we’re proud to stand in solidarity with the people of Ukraine and support the families facing a difficult winter who need our help.”
