This past summer, Alexandra Sassoon, a Community Health Promoter Americorps serving with the IRC in NY, held a health promotion workshop for several clients in partnership with Catholic Charities. The topics covered include nutrition and access to healthy food, exercise, mental health, and leadership training. The IRC in NY is currently recruiting for a new Americorps to start this fall to provide direct case management services and continue supporting health and wellness programs for newly arrived refugees and other immigrants in New York City.
