Thank you for your interest in welcoming refugees to your community. By volunteering with the IRC in the UK, you use your skills to help people who have fled violence and persecution to rebuild their lives in the UK. See below for the latest volunteer opportunities and how to apply.
Volunteer process
1. Review our current available volunteer positions below and choose what best fit your interests, skills, and schedule.
2. Submit your application as specified in the role description so we can learn more about your experience and interests.
3. After your application is reviewed you may be contacted for an interview with the volunteer position supervisor.
4. Successful interviewees will complete the necessary HR review, including right to work checks, references and background checks*.
5. After receiving your completed background & reference checks, the Senior Community & Volunteer Officer will reach out to invite you to complete Volunteer Onboarding.
Additional information
*You must be 18 years or older to volunteer and complete a background check and reference check.
You will be required to complete a volunteer onboarding training before you will be able to commence volunteering
Most positions require a 4-month volunteer commitment with 5 hours per week.

NB This is an unpaid volunteer opportunity. It does not create a contract of employment, worker status or mutual obligation between IRC UK and the volunteer. The volunteer is not required to accept tasks beyond the agreed scope. Reasonable, evidenced travel and subsistence expenses may be reimbursed in accordance with the IRC UK Volunteer Policy and agreed procedures.
