As part of the UK Government's International Development White Paper call for evidence process, the International Rescue Committee (IRC) submitted evidence for consideration. By 2030, two-thirds of those living in extreme poverty will live in fragile and conflict-affected states (FCAS). Furthermore, across many indicators, the UN’s 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) will be achieved - or missed - based on what happens next in FCAS. In this submission, the IRC outlines why the Government's international development approach must have a sharp focus on those countries most left behind, and how it can do so.
