Refugees are often denied citizenship and basic rights in their home countries. Participants at a recent IRC naturalization workshop share what becoming a U.S. citizen means to them.

Hawkar, a refugee from Iraq, was resettled in Phoenix in 2016. With the IRC's help, he adjusted to life in the US quickly and learned how to navigate the US financial system.

The guide helps set up IRC fundraisers, outlines a three-step process, offers tips, and shows donation impacts from $110 to $4,500.

On July 27th, the Phoenix Welcome Center for Asylum-Seeking Families opened its doors for the first time. This was a beginning to the humanitarian assistance provided by the IRC and partner organizations.  

The IRC continues to deliver life-saving programs to the refugee and immigrant community in Charlottesville, while adjusting to the realities of working remotely.

Since January 2018 the IRC in Dallas has been on a journey to create a space for refugee youth to share their thoughts, experiences, and interests.

Help newcomer youth get ready to start their school year by building and sharing back-to-school learning kits! The IRC is seeking learning kits for elementary and secondary school students, to ensure they have the tools they need to succeed as they return to school this fall.
