Volunteer opportunities

Thank you for your interest in welcoming refugees to your community. By volunteering with the IRC in Miami, FL, you use your skills to help people who have fled violence and persecution to rebuild their lives in America. See below for the latest volunteer opportunities and how to apply.

Volunteer process

  1. Review our current available volunteer positions.

  2. RSVP to our next orientation session. The next session will take place on October 5pm at 3pm. For more information: click here.

  3. After you’ve attended a volunteer orientation session, we’ll send you a volunteer application to complete. You’ll be asked to return a completed application prior to your volunteer interview.

  4. The Volunteer Coordinator will contact you regarding potential volunteer opportunities as they become available and may schedule a phone or in-person interview.

  5. Complete a background check. The IRC kindly requests that volunteers contribute $43 toward the cost of this requirement.

  6. You're ready to get started! Depending on your role, you'll either receive further training from your in-office department or wait to be matched with a family to tutor and/or mentor.
