The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is pleased to announce a grant from the Texas Bar Foundation in support of our immigration and legal services program.

Since its inception in 1965, the Texas Bar Foundation has awarded more than $30 million in grants to law-related programs. Supported by members of the State Bar of Texas, the Texas Bar Foundation is the nation's largest charitably-funded bar foundation.

This funding will help expand access to essential legal services for refugees and immigrants working to establish stability in the United States. Through the program, IRC provides guidance on pathways such as work authorization, family reunification, lawful permanent residency, and other forms of immigration relief. With support from the Texas Bar Foundation, our team can deliver timely, high quality legal assistance and ensure that clients are equipped to make informed decisions about their futures.

The grant also strengthens program capacity by supporting case management, outreach, and coordination with community partners, which are key components in helping individuals and families navigate the legal process and build a foundation for long term success.

For many clients, access to legal support can be transformative. One recent client, after months of uncertainty, was able to secure work authorization and begin supporting their family while pursuing permanent status. With guidance from IRC’s legal team, they navigated the application process with confidence and are now taking meaningful steps toward long term stability in their new community.

We are grateful to the Texas Bar Foundation for its commitment to expanding access to legal services and for its partnership in advancing equitable outcomes for newcomer communities across Texas.
