Anette Aponte, Immigrant Youth Program Supervisor

As Immigrant Youth Program Supervisor, Anette Aponte leads initiatives that transform the lives of immigrant youth and their families across Miami-Dade County. Her team empowers young people to overcome barriers, build confidence, and find stability as they adapt to life in a new environment. Through initiatives like English Café and Kick Start, along with strong community partnerships and culturally responsive support, Anette ensures youth have access to meaningful opportunities that help them thrive—not just survive—in their new community.

Anette’s greatest motivation comes from her own experience as a Venezuelan immigrant. Witnessing her parents and sisters struggle to navigate life in a foreign country without guidance shaped her commitment to social work and advocacy. Today, she strives to be a trusted resource for immigrant youth, helping them feel seen, supported, and equipped to navigate new systems with confidence.

Driven by the belief that when young people have the right opportunities and a dedicated advocate, they can build their future with dignity and hope, Anette exemplifies IRC’s mission to empower and uplift those facing hardship.
