Young people’s stories can be powerful tools for change. The Coming Across Challenge (CAC) Curriculum was developed by Place Network within the ParticipACTION project to help young people from diverse backgrounds discover their leadership potential, strengthen their communication skills, and transform personal experiences into meaningful advocacy messages.

Built as an interactive and practice-oriented learning journey, the curriculum guides participants through four progressive modules — Reflect, Communicate, Create, and Share — supporting them from self-discovery and peer feedback to script-writing and the creation of a personal video presentation. Through storytelling, leadership reflection, SMART goal-setting, and creative communication exercises, participants learn how to express their ideas with clarity, confidence, and authenticity.

Designed especially for young people aged 16–23, including youth with migrant and diverse backgrounds, the CAC creates a safe, inclusive, and youth-friendly space where lived experiences become starting points for dialogue, solidarity, and civic participation. By connecting personal narratives to broader European themes such as migration, education, youth participation, and rights, the curriculum encourages young people to see themselves not only as participants in society, but as active changemakers shaping Europe’s future.
