2025 was a year of unprecedented challenges for humanitarian actors in Nigeria, and for the International Rescue Committee (IRC), it tested both our resilience and our resolve. The stop-work orders and significant funding reductions placed immense pressure on our ability to deliver lifesaving assistance, yet our commitment to the communities we serve never wavered. Despite these obstacles, IRC reached over 98 0,000 individuals across Borno, Adamawa, Yobe, Katsina, Sokoto, and Zamfara States, ensuring access to health, nutrition, education, child protection, protection & rule of law, and economic recovery services.
Together, these efforts reflect IRC’s commitment to delivering impact at scale protecting lives, restoring dignity, and empowering communities to thrive amid ongoing challenges . The achievements of 2025 demonstrate that strategic, integrated humanitarian and development interventions can save lives today while building the resilience of tomorrow.
