The International Rescue Committee (IRC) conducted the Community Needs Assessment (CNA) in Jordan with the generous support of the Johnson & Johnson Foundation and coordination with the Jordan Ministry of Health (MoH) to identify gaps and areas of improvement to develop a new contextualized training curriculum and assess the current community health programming in Jordan.

The CNA was conducted throughout the period from August 2020 until November 2020, including Jordanians and Syrians in eleven governorates around Jordan. To have a comprehensive overview, the IRC-Community Health team reached out to various stakeholders in Jordan, they varied from families of different contexts to the staff of MoH, NGOs, INGOs, UN Agencies, community-based organizations, and universities, following rigorous quantitative and qualitative approaches.

The outcome of the CNA manifested in six key thematic areas: Society, Health, Education, Environment, Community Health Program, and Informal Tented Settlements (ITS). Each theme has different cross-cutting topics that are presented in detail.  The report documents the perspectives of all stakeholders, sameness, and diversity, supported by the figures from different surveys.
