Backpacks and coats for refugees
When Eielnata started first grade in a local elementary school this fall, she had a new backpack filled with school supplies. Over the years, the IRC has worked with many community groups and individuals to provide new backpacks and other needed items to support refugees and immigrants as they start school in Baltimore.

Community Sponsorship is a New Opportunity to Welcome Refugees in Montana
Before the Refugee Act of 1980 standardized refugee resettlement through the use of resettlement agencies, such as the International Rescue Committee, resettlement was largely conducted privately or through community groups. With the increasing numbers and enthusiasm of local community groups offering to partner to resettle refugees, IRC is committed to integrating community sponsorship programming at the local and national levels!
