On March 7, the International Rescue Committee hosted a webinar Briefing from the Field for IRC supporters across the United States to hear from Robin Dunn Marcos, Senior Director - Processing & Resettlement Programs, and Justin Gandy, Charlottesville Resettlement Manager, on the state of refugee resettlement in the U.S.

Information on our Speakers:

Robin Dunn Marcos returned to the International Rescue Committee (IRC) in 2015 as the Senior Director for Resettlement and Processing.  In this role, she supports resettlement programming throughout IRC’s domestic network, the CORE and EURITA technical assistance programs, and the IRC administered RSC Asia.  Prior to rejoining the IRC, Robin worked with Church World Service based in Nairobi, Kenya, serving as Resettlement Support Center Director and then as the Regional Representative for Africa. Robin has previously served with the IRC as the Executive Director of the Phoenix office, with the American Refugee Committee as their Regional Director for East and Central Africa, with the IRC as the In-Processing Coordinator based in Sierra Leone, and was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Liberia. Robin has previously taught courses in management and humanitarian work at Arizona State University and University of Phoenix. She has a Master’s degree in Intercultural Administration from the School for International Training and a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Eckerd College.

Justin Gandy is currently the Resettlement Manager in Charlottesville, overseeing Resettlement and Processing, Career Development, Intensive Case Management and medical case management services. Justin began with IRC in 2008 in Dallas as an intern and family mentor. Have previously worked as an R&P Caseworker, Employment Specialist, Economic Empowerment Specialist, Economic Empowerment Supervisor, and Employment Supervisor.
