The IRC in Richmond Prepares for Increase in Newly Arriving Families

Mariangela Taylor is a single mother of four who lives in Ellicott City, Maryland. While not a refugee herself, she empathized with the heart-wrenching stories of those escaping war and persecution and the immense challenges faced by those seeking the chance of a better life and decided to volunteer with the IRC.

The IRC has created a unique tool -- an interactive comic book -- to help Syrian women in Lebanon navigate the challenges of life as a refugee and stay safe.

The Soft Landing Fund directly supports the housing needs of refugee and immigrant families who were forced to flee their countries and are rebuilding their lives in Northern California.
