Students were excited to make new friends and join the fun at this summer’s 23rd annual Newcomer Youth Summer Academy (NYSA)! This year's NYSA ran for five weeks from July 11 to August 16.  

The IRC in LA is helping refugees and migrants climb the 'credit building ladder' through a new micro-loan program, thanks to the partnership and support of Citi Community Development. The new program has been especially helpful in offering 'emergency grants' and 'resilience loans' to those affected by COVID-19.

Clever Octopus's Craft with a Cause program supports families and individuals by crafting and donating useful items out of materials that would otherwise end up in the landfill.

Thanks to the “Resilient Futures” project, Svitlana from Ukraine and Justyna from Poland are making a new start in Germany and successfully founding their own companies.

The IRC teamed with renowned illustrator Bodil Jane to show that women around the world, despite their differences, all fight the same battle—to make equality a reality.

Within a year of arriving in Salt Lake City, Abdul Bari noticed a need in his school and took action: he started a robotics club focused on inclusion, where 90% of club members come from a refugee or immigrant background.

Refugees and asylees often face difficulties in resuming their careers once resettled in the U.S. The IRC in NY is working with an extraordinary Special Immigrant Visa holder, Tamana, to rebuild her career in education.
