Background: The International Rescue Committee (IRC) helps people whose lives and livelihoods are shattered by conflict and disaster to survive, recover and gain control of their future. IRC teams provide health, infrastructure, learning and economic support to people in 50+ countries worldwide. The IRC also provides support to thousands of refugees resettling in 29 U.S. cities each year through initial housing assistance; case management and referral services; job readiness and placement; community and cultural orientation; health and wellness programs; immigration services; and youth programs.
Scope of Volunteer Work: The Washington Migrant and Asylum-Seeker Support Project (WA MASS Project) is a new project that helps newly arrived immigrants and asylum seekers in Washington State connect to services including legal assistance, case management, and housing.
Volunteers help us reach more interested individuals by distributing informational flyers in trusted community spaces.
Key Responsibilities:
- Distribute flyers in designated community locations provided by the Partnership Outreach Coordinator.
- Engage respectfully and briefly with staff at each site when distributing flyers and completing the questionnaire for the service mapping project verification process.
- Ensure flyers are placed in visible areas (bulletin boards, front desks, break rooms).
- Track distribution using the provided form
- Report any issues or concerns to the Partnership Outreach Coordinator
Requirements:
- Comfortable interacting with community members in a friendly and professional manner.
- Ability to walk or drive to multiple locations during a shift.

- Flexible schedule
Training & Support: Volunteers will receive a brief orientation and guidance on outreach best practices before starting.
