Volunteer Role

The volunteer will work closely with the Financial Capability Program, gaining hands‑on experience in financial literacy services, data entry, and supporting Financial Education Specialists with a variety of administrative and operational tasks. This opportunity provides exposure to financial capability management systems. The volunteer will contribute to day‑to‑day operations, assist with data management, and help ensure smooth communication between clients and team members. This role supports growth in administrative skills, data organization, and understanding of financial education.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Work individually with clients to create, update, and review program intake documents and collect eligibility documents. 
  • Support the Financial Education team with a variety of projects and administrative tasks, including data entry, filing, and database quality assurance.   
  • Reach out to potential clients to explain the services at the department. 
  • Assist in maintaining communication with clients already enrolled and organize training schedule. 

 

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:  

  • Learn how to enter and manage client data accurately. 
  • Gain skills in creating professional program intake and navigate eligibility and collect eligibility documents. 
  • Develop communication skills by reaching out to clients. 
  • Learn how to organize and maintain important documents and client records. 
  • Get hands-on experience with Financial Literacy topics. 

 

REQUIREMENTS:  

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and document management.  
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).  
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills both English, Dari and/or Pashto 
  • Ability to organize tasks and manage time effectively.  
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team. 

 

Working Environment:   

  • This position is in-person at our El Cajon office. 
  • Must be able to complete work during business hours Monday-Friday 8:30 am-4:30 PM. No shifts will be scheduled outside of these business hours.
