This year’s Give Miami Day was a beautiful reminder of what happens when a community comes together with purpose, compassion, and unwavering belief in the dignity of every person who calls Miami home.
From the starting line of the Give Miami 5K to the final moments of Give Miami Day, our community showed up in powerful ways for immigrant youth, survivors of human trafficking, and families rebuilding their lives.
Starting Strong at the Give Miami 5K
On Sunday, November 16th, our IRC Miami team joined hundreds at the Give Miami 5K — running, walking, cheering, and carrying the stories of the youth and families we serve every day.
The energy was electric. Staff, volunteers, and supporters gathered not just for the race, but to stand in solidarity with the young people and survivors whose courage inspires our work.
The 5K set the tone for a week filled with generosity and connection.
Give Miami Day: A Community Rising Together
On Give Miami Day, you helped turn momentum into impact.
Thanks to the kindness and generosity of our community:
- We received 60 total gifts
- We reached 53 unique donors
- We unlocked our $1,000 match from The Miami Foundation
- We raised a total of $5,720 for IRC Miami programs
Every donation — from $5 to $500 — helped strengthen the safety nets that families rely on during the hardest moments of their lives. You didn’t just give; you helped create a path forward for people rebuilding from trauma, displacement, and instability.
Your Support Fuels Real Change
Because of you, we can expand:
- Crisis intervention and stabilization for survivors of human trafficking
- Mentoring, tutoring, and guidance for immigrant youth
- Emergency assistance for newly arrived families
- Mental health support and pathways to long-term stability
Your generosity touches real lives, brings real relief, and restores real hope.
A Week Full of Engagement & Connection
In the days leading up to Give Miami Day, our team stayed active across the community and online. This week we participated in:
- The Give Miami 5K
- Community engagement events with partners such as Florida International University’s (FIU) Empowering Women in Law EmpowerHer Walk and Miami Dade Sheriff’s Office’s Juntos Somos Más
- Social media livestreams and updates throughout the day
- Conversations with donors, volunteers, and supporters who shared why this work matters to them
Every interaction reminded us that Miami cares deeply — and that together, we make change possible.
Special Thank Yous
We are deeply grateful to:
- Our donors — for giving generously and believing in this mission
- Our volunteers — for cheering, sharing, and helping spread the word
- Our partners — including FIU’s Empowering Women in Law, Miami Dade Sheriff’s Office, and Quest2Freedom, who amplified our work
- Our staff — who showed up at the 5K, in the office, and online with heart and dedication
- The Miami Foundation — for championing nonprofits and fueling community-led change
Because of You, Hope is Stronger in Miami
Give Miami Day is more than a fundraiser — it’s a celebration of who we are when we come together. Thank you for making sure immigrant youth, survivors of human trafficking, and families starting over know that Miami stands with them.
We couldn’t do this work without you. And because of you, 2026 will begin with deeper support, stronger connections, and more lives touched by hope.
Thank you for giving.
Thank you for caring.
Thank you for believing in this work.
