Give BIG Washington post with IRC Brand and Colors

GiveBIG is an inspiring example of the power we have when we come together as a community. Be a part of the biggest days of giving in our state on May 3rd and 4th—or schedule your donation today—to support newcomer families and survivors of human trafficking in our community.

We are excited to share that IRC also just opened an office in Spokane, and has welcomed its first arrivals there, with many more on the way. This provides another excellent landing spot and welcoming community for refugees in Washington state. Please join us in welcoming Spokane to the IRC network. You can follow their office on Facebook at @IRCSpokane to learn more.

In the last 6 months, we’ve welcomed more than 600 Afghan newcomers with more on the way, and many other families are arriving in our community from other places sometimes on very short notice. While we expect significant Ukrainian arrivals, we can’t predict where other challenges may create significant refugee flows, and therefore it's most helpful to receive funding with the most flexibility. Flexible support to IRC is needed to continue these efforts when newer families continue arriving in Washington so we can make Washington a welcoming home for them. You can support our efforts in making Washington a more welcoming home for newcomers by donating to our GiveBIG campaign! Every little bit counts.

GiveBIG is two days: Tuesday, May 3rd and Wednesday, May 4th from midnight to midnight PDT, but you can schedule your donation early beginning on April 19th.

How do I give?

There are two ways to participate:

  1. Donate through the IRC in Washington's profile on the GiveBIG website through midnight PDT on May 4th. Any donations scheduled early will be processed on the morning of May 4th.
  2. Start your own peer-to-peer fundraiser and encourage your friends, family, colleagues, and neighbors to donate!

Thank you to all community members participating in GiveBIG 2022 in support of local causes!
