Student leaders from Wichita East High School and Manhattan Middle School in Manhattan, KS organized an awareness campaign and donation drive on behalf of the IRC in Wichita. Students spoke in their classes and seminars to their peers about the IRC and the path that refugees take to be resettled in Kansa. In addition, they organized donations drives in their respective schools to collect much needed hygiene items that will be distributed to newly arrived refugees resettling in Wichita.

As a result of their efforts, the students collected more than 300 hygiene items. As new refugees arrive in Wichita, they will be provided with a kit including all the household and personal hygiene items needed for one month.   For more information about how you or your group may become involved with the IRC, please call 316.361.2795 or email [email protected]
