How to Help our Afghan Neighbors in Missoula

The IRC in Missoula helps people fleeing violence and persecution rebuild their lives and gain control of their future. We continue to work alongside communities and partners to welcome and support Afghans and refugees from other crisis zones around the world.

Here are a few ways you can get involved and help:

  1. Give. Make a one-time donation or start your monthly contribution to ensure refugees arriving in Missoula receive vital programming and services. Donate now »
  2. Volunteer or Intern. We have a variety of volunteer and internship opportunities for every ability and time commitment ranging from setting up a family's new home to mentoring a family and helping them learn how to navigate life in Missoula. Contact volunteer.missoula [at] resue.org for more information or Sign up today »
  3. Donate household items. Ensure families have the items they need for their first home in Missoula as they begin rebuilding their lives. Items purchased from our Amazon Wishlist are distributed to newly arriving families from Afghanistan and other crisis zones around the world. If you have gently used furniture items you are interested in donating, please view our current list of needed items and contact our sarah.howerton [at] rescue.org (Development Coordinator. )
  4. Rent to a Refugee. Housing prices in Missoula remain high and availability is low. If you are interested in renting an apartment or home to a newly arrived Afghan family, please contact our nyota.haley [at] rescue.org (Housing Coordinator. )
