Are you a recent college graduate or currently enrolled in a University or College, wanting to learn more about the IRC and help refugees resettling in Wichita while earning college credit? The IRC in Wichita has several internships currently available. Interns must be affiliated with a College, University or educational institution and working towards earning college credit. The office currently has the following internships available:

Intake Coordinator Intern

Description: The Intake Coordinator Intern serves as the first point of contact for clients and visitors of the IRC in Wichita.

Description: The Employment Assistant Intern will assist the IRC direct service staff in    developing resources for the employment program.  This position will assist refugees in preparing for employment, locating and obtaining employment.

In addition to this, the IRC also has several VISTA positions available in the office. The focus of VISTA positions are to build upon the capacity of the IRC office. Currently, VISTAs serve the following roles in the IRC office: Volunteer Coordination, In-Kind Donation Coordination, and Adult Education and Immigration Coordination roles. VISTAs are asked to make a year-long commitment to the organization and commit to working a regular full-time work week. They receive a living stipend and after their end of service they are eligible for an education award. VISTAs don’t have to be enrolled in college or working towards a college degree. Currently, the IRC has open VISTA positions in both our Wichita and Garden City offices.
