On June 16, 2025, the IRC’s Immigrant Youth team proudly participated in the CAHSD Hialeah “No Wrong Door” Career and Resource Fair, hosted by the Miami-Dade County Community Action and Human Services Department and sponsored by Mayor Daniella Levine Cava. Held at Henry Milander Park, the event welcomed job seekers, students, and community members—many of whom were Haitian Creole and Spanish speakers—seeking career guidance and social service resources. The IRC team, including Anette Aponte, Alejandro Ovalle, and Fiona Sheets, engaged with attendees, offering valuable information about our programs and services designed to help individuals rebuild their lives.

The fair emphasized professional development, drawing participation from employers, technical colleges, and social service agencies. The IRC connected with key partners such as Early Learning, HeadStart, Florida Division of Blind Services, Kristi House, Citrus, CareerSource, and other educational programs. Our presence helped raise awareness of the resources available to immigrant youth and their families, reinforcing our commitment to empowering the South Florida community.

It was inspiring to see so many people eager to take the next step in their professional journey. We were proud to be there to offer support, resources, and hope. - Anette Aponte, Immigrant Youth Coordinator
