Coverage area
IRC's services span a 19-county area along the Interstate 80 corridor, from the Des Moines metro area through Iowa City and Cedar Rapids, covering urban, suburban, and rural communities.
Who the program serves
The targeted individuals are adult and youth survivors of sex and labor trafficking.
Population focus
IRC in Iowa's services are primarily directed toward refugees, immigrants, and foreign-born survivors, but services are available for any trafficking survivor seeking support. Due to IRC's expertise in working with diverse populations who also face specific barriers to services, IRC's staff are trained and have vast experience with ability to offer specialized skills include ensuring language access, interpretation, and culturally specific care for migration-related trauma, stigma, and immigration-related fears as it relates to trafficking.
